Purpose of Program: This program is intended to serve as a review of common
clinical
emergencies and their treatment using drugs and equipment found in your
Banyan Stat Kit, ensuring preparedness for your next emergency.
- Dynamic, Multi-Media Clinical Syndromes: Fourteen clinical syndromes
are presented in an engaging multi-media format, incorporating clinical animations,
photographs, interactions, audio, and text. These authentic case-based clinical
syndromes are designed to be practical, rather than comprehensive. You may
go through them at your own pace. Each clinical syndrome begins with presenting "signs
and symptoms" followed by the treatments available in your Banyan Stat Kit.
Representative clinical courses are then illustrated. The Cardiac Arrest
clinical sequence reviews the 2000 American Heart Association Emergency Cardiac
Care recommendations for treating ventricular fibrillation, PEA and asystole.
References are provided for each clinical syndrome to allow the practitioner
to seek additional resources.
- Banyan Stat Kit Animation: The centerpiece of this training program is a beautifully illustrated animation of the drugs and equipment found in your Banyan Stat Kit. To learn more about a particular drug, either click on the "drug name" in the scroll bar on the left hand side of the Home Training Page, or click on its "photo" in the center animation of the Stat Kit. Clicking on the Drug Name or photo will provide you with practical information about the drug such as how the drug is supplied, clinical pharmacology, indications, precautions, dosage and administration, and available references. You can also click on the pdf link to review comprehensive information as detailed in the Physician Desk Reference.
